Despite her husband submitting that calls for president Mahama to free the Montie 3 can prove costly for the president and party, Gender Minister, Nana Oye Lithur has signed the petition.

Research and Advocacy Platform (RAP), a pro National Democratic Congress (NDC) group opened the book at the Montie FM premises to harvest 1 million signatures for a presidential pardon for Salifu Maase, Alistair Nelson and Godwin Ako Gunn.

Notables who have registered their protest at the 4-month sentence given the Montie 3 who threatened to cause harm to the chief justice and other justices include Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyeman, Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa, Benjamin Dagadu, Valerie Sawyerr, Nana Oye Lithur and Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare.

The NPP’s Dr Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe has reportedly signed as well.

Since the incarceration of the Montie 3, there has been incessant pressure from aggrieved party members for the inmates to be rescued since claiming they were protecting the interest of the party and president Mahama.

Host of Montie FM’s political talk show ‘Pampaso’ Salifu Maase, popularly known as Mugabe, and two panelists, Alistair Nelson, and Godwin Ako Gunn both of the National Democratic Congress were jailed four months by the Supreme Court on Wednesday for contempt.
