The National Coordinator of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Ras Mubarak, has described the flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) as an "incredibly intolerant old man".
Mr Mubarak's comment comes after Adakabre Frimpong-Manso, a radio presenter with Accra-based Neat FM, accused Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of refusing him a handshake and subsequently threatening his life.
In a reaction on Facebook, Mr Mubarak, who has won the NDC parliamentary primary for the Kumbungu constituency, said Nana Addo's level of intolerance was unbelievable.
He said if elected president in November, the NPP flagbearer would unleash impunity and brutality on the people of Ghana.
"The man is incredibly intolerant. It's unbelievable. Coming events cast their shadow. Imagine the impunity and brutality this old man will visit on Ghanaians if he becomes president," he said.
