The flagbearer of the All People’s Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga, has accused the party's dismissed General Secretary, Razak Kojo Opoku and vice presidential candidate Emmanuel Carl Bartel, of taking a GHS 15,000 bribe to endorse the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo ahead of the 7 December polls.

The two were dismissed after they went against the party's decision to endorse President John Mahama's candidacy  and endorsed Mr Akufo-Addo.

While the embattled general secretary in a series of interviews on Monday revealed that APC stole portions of the NPP’s manifesto and also alleged that President Mahama is the financier of the APC, Mr Ayariga, on the other hand, is also alleging that the sacked duo were “greedy” people who secretly approached the leadership of the NPP to negotiate with them for money in exchange for their endorsement of Mr Akufo-Addo.

According to him, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, a nephew of the NPP Presidential Candidate was the one who gave

Speaking in an interview on Class FM's Executive Breakfast Show, Mr Ayariga said “After a week to election, you go and sell your party for GHS 15,000. Are you kidding me? Look at the millions of dollars I have spent and you go and negotiate with NPP and take GHS 15,000 to sell APC and Ayariga. …They gave them GHS 15,000…but the money was given out by Gabby Otchere-Darko. Gabby Otchere-Darko handed the money out to them...”

Mr Ayariga disclosed: “The party is not taking anything from any political party to endorse their leader. The party wants power sharing and that is all the party is asking for so that if you win power some APC members can become Ministers, Deputy Ministers, DCEs, so that we can build and develop our nation. This is what APC is looking for. We have money. What are we using money for?”, he stated.Â
