Former Ghana Premier League club Accra Great Olympics have announced the signing of Bernard Don Bortey ahead of the commencement of Special Competition.
Bortey who also played for Hearts of Oak signed a two-year deal with the Division One club on Wednesday, February 6 to be effective immediately.Â
In addition to signing the 36-year-old, Accra Great Olympics also secured the signature of Roger Sackey, son of former Ghana International Emmanuel Sackey.Â
The 26-year-old last played for FC Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk in the third division of Russian professional football.
In a statement released by the club:Â "We have signed Don Bortey and Roger Sackey because they are professional players who are just returning from overseas to bring their rich experiences to bear on a relatively young Olympics Squad".
"The signing of the duo is premised on the legacy football philosophy of Olympics- blending the experienced with the youthful passionate boys to achieve wonders on the pitch."
The former Aduana Stars dribbling magician is expected to form a partnership with Abel Manomey and former Asante Kotoko and Hearts Oak attacker, Samuel Affum who recently joined the 'Dade' boys. Â
