Asante Kotoko are through to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup after a 5-3 aggregate win over Cameroonian side Coton Sport at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Goals from Captain Amos Frimpong and Maxwell Baakoh gave the Porcupine Warrior a 2-1 over Coton Sport to advance to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Porcupine Warriors made their intentions known as they dominated proceedings in the early department of the game.

Songne Yacouba was brought down in penalty box minutes few minutes to half time.

Skipper of the side Amos Frimpong made no mistake from the spot as he fired the ball past the Coton Sport goalkeeper.

Minutes after the recess, Maxwell Baakoh doubled the lead for the Kotoko to make it 2-0.

He got to the end of a loose ball and shot into the far corner. 

Oumarou Sali capitalised on a loosed marking inside the Kotoko penalty box and struck into the bottom corner of the left post to reduce the deficit for the away side. 

The referee brought proceedings to an end at the Baba Yara Stadium with Asante Kotoko qualifying on a 5-3 aggregate.

The Reds have progressed to the group stage of CAF Confederation Cup for the first time since 2008.
