Hearts of Oak's dream for a double this season is still on course after Caleb Amankwah's beautiful strike.

The Phobians are through to the semi-finals, their second successive semi-finals in the MTN FA Cup after beating Elmina Sharks 1-0 in extra time.

Amankwah, former Aduana Stars defender on Saturday scored the only goal in the match at the Nduom Complex.

After both sides failed to find the back of the net in 90 minutes of football. Amankwah produced a magic for the Phobians in the second half of extra time to see his side through to the next stage of the competition.

He scored from a free-kick 3 minutes in the second half of extra time that proved to be the match-winner.

Hearts of Oak will face the winner of today's clash between Medeama SC vs Attram De Visser.

Earlier on Saturday, AshantiGold also secured a place in the semifinals of the 2020/21 MTN FA Cup after a 4-2 win over Kintampo Top Talent.

The Miners headed into the game knowing they are under investigation for an alleged match-fixing scandal, but played with so much confidence and easily beat the lower-tier side to reach the semi-finals of the cup competition, which remains their only hope of silverware this season.

AshantiGold will find out their semi-final opponent on today after Asante Kotoko’s clash with Berekum Chelsea.
