According to one Lawyer for Tiger eye, Sammy Darko, Anas and his team are set to present a petition to the office of the Special Prosecutor to probe the suspects who were involved in bribery to facilitate illegal mining despite the government efforts to fight against it.

The lawyer of Tiger Pi ,Sammy Darko in an interview with Starr news on Thursday, February 28, 2019, monitored by PrimeNewsGhana said: “The team will send a petition to the office of the Special Prosecutor, which I believe is ready, and the team is ready to deliver to the office of the special prosecutor who has the mandate to investigate such things"

“The petition says some people have been exposed in bribery and corruption and thwarting the state’ effort at fighting illegal mining,” he added.

The latest investigative piece of Anas Aremeyaw Anas ‘galamsey fraud’ uncovered a massive scale of fraud perpetrated by some members of the Inter-Ministerial Committee(IMCIM) against Illegal Mining.

In 2017,  Akufo-Addo led-government established the Inter-Ministerial Committee(IMCIM) on illegal mining to sanitize and curb illegal mining activities in mining communities across the country. 

The practice of illegal mining fast led to degradation of the environment affecting severely rivers and forest reserves.

Evidently in the latest 'galamsey fraud' key members of the committee derailed the government and the President's efforts to fight against illegal mining.

A presidential staffer and Secretary to the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining Charles Bissue has been fingered as the foremost collaborator against efforts by President Akufo-Addo to fight the menace.
