Nana Yaw Amponsah has responded to King Faisal bankroller Alhaji Grusah's claim that he sought help from Asante Kotoko ahead of their matchday 31 Ghana Premier League fixture.

Alhaji Gruzah this week in a radio interview made a damning claim he ‘tried to fix’ a game with the Porcupines.

According to the football administrator, he made efforts to have Kotoko play it soft against them but to no avail.

King Faisal managed to hold Kotoko to a 1-1 draw in matchday 31 to keep their title hopes alive, but Gruzah wanted something more.
“We went to see a Chief for him to talk to Kotoko so that they do something to help us when we were about playing them(Kotoko) in Obuasi,” he told Fox FM

“We wanted them to help us but they refused.

“I had even talked to Nana Yaw Amponsah, the Kotoko CEO and he said he cannot do anything about it for me.

“The chief to did not do anything about it for us.”

Reacting to the comments, Nana Yaw Amponsah said Alhaji Grusah rather called him after the match and was ranting. The Kotoko CEO explained that he made it known to the King Faisal owner that there is not a single day that he would like to play it soft for anything team.

According to him, the integrity of the sport depends on the uncertainty of results

"Alhaji Grusah called me after the match and he was upset about the result and I remember what I told him will I will tell him any day," he said on Asempa FM.

"Alhaji Grusah called me after the match complaining about a whole lot and I asked what the problem was?

"He replied sarcastically congratulations you are now the league winners."

"I asked what is the meaning of that? He went on accusing people and I told him that I wanted to beat him and will try to do so any day we meet whether King Faisal is fighting for relegation or not I don't care."

"The integrity of every sports lies in the uncertainty of the results”

The Ghana Premier League has gone viral in days amid a topical potential match-fixing scandal between Asahntigold and Inter Allies.
