Here is a full list of the Oscar winners

After months of campaigning and controversy, schmoozing and surprises, the 88th annual Academy Awards are finally under way in Los Angeles.

Heading into the ceremony, the biggest questions surrounded the best picture category as a three-way race between “The Revenant,” “The Big Short” and “Spotlight” emerged. In somewhat of a shocker, “Spotlight” won even as “The Revenant” and “Mad Max: Fury Road” had more overall Oscars. Best director, considered a showdown between “The Revenant” helmer Alejandro G. Inarritu and “Mad Max: Fury Road” director George Miller, concluded with Inarritu winning for the second year in a row. In the leading acting categories, meanwhile, Leonardo DiCaprio (“The Revenant”) and Brie Larson (“Room”) won, as expected.

Leonardo DiCaprio finally wins an OSCAR

The 88th Academy Awards set its tone before host Chris Rock could grab the mic.
